We are used to the tried-and-true methods such as fixed-term, casual, internship, apprenticeship, and contracts; but have we ever thought of trying a different approach?
Roie Deutsch, CEO and cofounder of Jolt, a startup that helps companies gain access to content sessions by industry experts, recently came out with ‘Chapterships’, an approach to employment that centres on providing less flashy perks and more personal growth and learning opportunities for employees.
To Deutsch, many fresh job seekers these days are not looking at pay and perks solely in jump-starting their careers; instead they are more inclined towards being given a platform to learn new things before progressing to the next ‘chapter’ of their careers. Chapterships is chiefly about providing such a platform.
Is this an approach worth exploring?
