Covid deaths: If the news leaves you numb, you're not alone

We know there are many studies reflecting on the impact of social media and newsfeeds. The impact that overkill has on us, and in some ways, our either "desensitisation" to content or our "prolonged disbelief" at it.

The impact of a pseudo-Stockholm Syndrome-type effect where exposure to social media helps shape our perception of issues. In the current time, we are simply bombarded by Covid news; patient numbers, SOP changes, deaths, political games; that the pandemic has become our number one "news" story for almost twelve months. And yes, its beginning to make us numb.
