Farrell Tan

Founding Director

 

 Twenty years have passed since Farrell Tan’s immersion in the communications industry first took root. What began as an entry-level vocation in advertising back in 1997, has since evolved into a highly-decorated career pillared by strong business acumen and an enviable knack for headship. Today, the same trailblazing spirit persists, but at a greatly magnified degree.

With a diverse skill-set encompassing account servicing, brand management, crisis communication, campaign ideation, creative conceptualisation, corporate communication, change management, event planning, sponsorship acquisition, government relations and more, tucked under his belt, the Orchan Consulting | Asia Founding Director’s client servicing prowess and strategic direction are incomparable.

A thinker equipped with the foresight of an inspired builder, his passion for leading the charge on change defines the very outline of the entrepreneur’s blueprint for best-in-class success and domination. The establishment of his specialist agency in 2009, is the ultimate realisation of Tan’s dream to spearhead innovation.

Through Orchan Consulting I Asia Sdn Bhd, Farrell has spearheaded campaigns for PUMA, MEPS, Staedtler, Mayland Properties, Martell, Timberland, Forever 21, ARA Asset Management Ltd, Peugeot, Servcorp, Dyson, Kao, UNICEF, GARMIN, Red Bull of Europe, Sunway Medical Centre among other local and international brands.

Winner of a slew of awards such as “Best Newcomer” at McCann-Ericksson in 1997; “Best Overall Performer” at Bates Asia/141 Worldwide in 2003; and included in Prestige Magazine’s “Top 40 Under 40” award in 2011, Farrell shows no sign of slowing down.

Craig J Selby

Director

 

Craig is a long-time proponent of structured and measured change. He is known for shaping innovative ideas to help brands shine. His achievements embrace a multitude of clients across varying industries, ranging from property, retail and automotive to healthcare, FMCG and more. Craig led the creation of Chocolate Box PR, a public relations empowerment package for start-ups and SMEs, and is currently working on an innovative public relations product for the Asian region to be launched in the second half of 2020. 

 

He launched his career lecturing in economics, marketing and management at a variety of tertiary providers, where he quickly climbed the management ladder to lead several private sector institutes. Craig then formed his own consultancy and was engaged as a trouble-shooter responsible for internal systems auditing and the restructuring and redevelopment of departments and institutes, enabling them to remain competitive in a highly contested market. This motivated him to branch out and work with other industries  focusing on crisis, change and development as a core theme in business continuity. In 2009 Craig co-founded Orchan Consulting | Asia Sdn Bhd with the mission to orchestrate change.

 

Over the years he has designed and led numerous courses for corporate clients in the fields of property, retail, fintech, hospitality, manufacturing, education and service sectors. His approach to these seminars is always from a deep-industry perspective, with analysis of how best-practice and contemporary industry issues can concurrently shape strategic communications for clients. Craig’s core topics centre around Crisis Planning, Communications & Management; Change Management; Strategic Communications; and Social Media Ethics. Craig also teaches workshops on Social Media Practice and Writing as well as Curating Business Strategy.
